Cov - Luton is the ideal final really.

Both great stories, Luton dropping to non-league and Cov being homeless, playing at Northampton and Birmingham, before returning home.

A shame both can't go up.

I hope Coventry do it. What a story that would be.

As mentioned earlier, 5 years ago they were in League 2 and without a ground. Even now they are having issues with the stadium situation and haven’t got much money.

Mark Robins has done a remarkable job.

As far as Luton goes, it was 40 years ago that they stayed up on the last day and sent Man City down with David Pleat dancing/leaping onto the pitch.

The old half & half Hummel Coventry kit was a classic.
Same as the Denmark 🇩🇰 European champion kit.

Was thinking the same about that Coventry kit when I saw the highlights
CLASSIC KIT

20+ years since they've been in the top division and about 30 for Luton I think

It’s a copy of their Admiral kit from 75-81….

Re: Luton v Sunderland
goose,

Coventry’s current home kit is a homage to their 80s one. It looks pretty good.

Now they just have to bring back the Chocolate Brown Away one from the same period!

Re: Luton v Sunderland
Be some achievement if they do it.

Especially the West Ham youngster Pelly Ruddock.

Been with them since they were in the conference and still a regular.

Although looks like Dan Potts and Reece Burke not playing so regular now.

Re: Luton v Sunderland
Luton have done brilliantly to get themselves through the leagues over the past decade after slipping into the National League at one point. It’s weird to think they might be in the Premiership next season with a 10k capacity.

I remember them in the 80s and their horrible plastic pitch which gave them a huge advantage. They had some great players though like Ricky Hill, Mick Harford, Steve Foster & Brian and Mark Stein.

Coventry are playing in the other semi final and what an amazing job Mark Robins has done there.

They were in League 2 just 5 years ago and are now 2 games away from the Premiership despite having next to no money and all the issues with the stadium that have seen them play elsewhere.

I have a relative on the (youth) playing staff, a few good mates are st holders and 3 of my kids still live in Bedfordshire, about 5 miles from Luton. I can only respect their achievements up to now, to be where they are from where they have been is remarkable. I'll be getting a txt in the next day or so inviting me to Wembley tho I'm not sure I'll go. My boy in Aus is thinking of flying home for the final, if he does, I'll go. The four of them and me have never had a day out at football where we're all togethet, could be quite a day.

Re: Luton v Sunderland
If they get promoted they will be the first team ever to get to the Premier League having been out of the Football League. Good for them.
In the late 70s, I went to a Watford/Luton match. Absolute carnage. As I detest Watford, I have to therefore support Luton for promotion.

That will never happen, Gaffer58. The fans here would never allow it.

Re: Luton v Sunderland
All these yanks who are starting to own clubs will not understand or like teams with grounds like Bournemouth, Luton etc in the premiership, can eventually see where certain targets on turnover, ground capacity will be brought in to stop “smaller”. clubs joining the elite, then of course the next step will be to stop relegation so eventually it’ll be like the NFL and a closed shop.
